We have created a variety of awards to acknowledge students’ outstanding accomplishment in Local, State and National events and competitions. Every year we are pleased to honor over 50 outstanding, talented high school artists and musicians in our community. Our awards fall into three categories:
Achievement Awards
For students who participate in NYSMMA related All Area-All State, All State, and All Eastern music festivals.
For students who represent SHS at community art shows and exhibits, such as:
- College of New Rochelle Annual HS Women Artists Exhibition (Oct-Nov)
- Katonah Museum of Art Exhibition (April)
- Osilas Gallery Concordia College of New York (May)
- Art Contest Sponsored by Exhibition Tools as Art
- Pace University high school invitational Small art Work Exhibition (Jan-Feb)
- The Rye Arts Center Student Studio: Emerging High School Talent Exhibition (Feb)
- 18th District Congressional New York Arts Competition
- New York State Media Arts Teachers Association Exhibition (March)
Academic Awards
For graduating seniors who have honored the District with dedication and commitment to their craft, producing work at a professional level
- The Dr. Joseph Albright Director Award for excellence in music
- The Friends Drama Award for excellence in theater
- The Friends 2-D Visual Art Award for excellence in art
- The Friends 3-D Visual Art Award for excellence in art
- The Friends Permanent Collection Award which honors an artist by permanently exhibiting their work at Scarsdale High School
